Fund Roadmap

5 new modern ambulances worth half a million euros

This aid project became possible thanks to an unusual collaboration between an international coal company and our Dnipro-based tour operator Itravel, which launched the Aid Ship charity foundation.

It all started when a group of donors approached our foundation in mid-December with an ambitious idea to purchase and deliver 5 new ambulances for Ukrainian hospitals to be used by paramedics. Before this project began, we had already purchased 43 ambulances, so doctors began to advise potential donors to contact us.

After a thorough search in 10 countries, we found a dealer in Croatia who agreed to deliver the ambulances with equipment by the end of February, just because the ambulances were going to Ukraine.

The total invoice including VAT for the vehicles with equipment and delivery amounted to 468,000 euros and was paid in full by donors.

As part of the Cold Winter project, we are repairing 5 shelters for IDPs

In February, we learned that almost two months ago, a shelter for IDP families on Novokrymska Street burned down. The fire started because of a fire in the electrical wiring. Luckily, none of the residents were injured, but the walls, furniture, belongings, and window frames were destroyed.

This was the turning point when we decided to help IDP shelter owners to repair their premises. Thus, we helped with the restoration of Novokrymska Street and purchased and installed new metal-plastic windows.

In total, together with donors, we have restored 5 shelters over the winter as part of the project!

As part of the Cold Winter project, we are repairing an IDP shelter on Karuna Street, Dnipro

In December, we were approached by an IDP shelter in Dnipro that was in a state of disrepair. The premises on Karuna Street had heating problems and serious problems with the roof, it was leaking almost everywhere and was very old.

As part of the project, we deliver all the necessary equipment and materials and carry out the following work:

  • bought and installed heating converters
  • poured a concrete blind area
  • carried out roofing works

Very soon we visited the IDP children with gifts.

We are carrying out the December Cold Winter project

Within the framework of the project, our foundation performed many tasks of purchasing and delivering cars every day. Three of them were purchased and delivered to Dnipro and Kherson.

We purchased and delivered to the shelters eclectic converters for heating, more than 30 truckloads of firewood, generators and fuel for them, and repaired one of the shelters (Dnipro, Karuna Street).

And, also, one of the simple but effective options to keep warm in winter, especially at night, is insulated blankets.

We ordered 200 of them from a supplier in Dnipro and delivered them to the shelters on Orlovska Street in Dnipro (100) and Bezlyudivka, Kharkiv region (100).

We continue to help IDP shelters in Dnipro and outside the city

First ambulance delivered and handed over to a hospital in Dnipro as part of the hospital support project

This ambulance, imported from the UK, is equipped with an electric lift and a modern bed for transporting patients. Together with the vehicle, 250 kg of medicines and humanitarian aid were delivered to Ukraine and handed over to hospitals and organizations in need.

We are grateful to the Itravel team for their financial and organizational assistance in implementing this idea. We also thank the UOK Berlin volunteer center for their assistance.

We plan to continue the project and bring more ambulances to hospitals.
